The NYC Department of Buildings (DOB) issued updated guidance on essential and non-essential construcion on April 15. Public and private school construction projects are now deemed essential, and Marymount's building project was confirmed as essential by the DOB on April 23. To facilitate the start of work under the current guidelines, contractors will follow safety protocols for social distancing onsite, augmented PPE, additional cleaning of surfaces, etc.
To our neighbors: We are aware that a few construction workers have chosen to smoke on the sidewalks adjacent to the site. Unfortunately, smoking on the sidewalk is not illegal in New York City. We have nonetheless contacted the contractor to ask them to address the situation. We also asked them to review compliance with proper social distancing.
